Hiking in the Dolomites: from Lake Prags to the Fanes pastures
The Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, begin just beyond St. Vigil. From the Übersteinerhof you reach the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park in about 30 minutes, and Lake Prags and the Three Peaks as a day trip.
Dolomites hikes from St. Lorenzen
Between the Puster Valley and Val Badia lie two of South Tyrol’s most beautiful nature parks: Fanes-Sennes-Prags with its wide high pastures and alpine lakes, and Puez-Odle with the striking Peitlerkofel. You reach both from the farm via St. Vigil or St. Martin in Thurn.
Each route lists trailhead, walking time, distance and elevation gain as published by the regional tour portals. Start early: summer afternoons in the Dolomites often bring thunderstorms.
