Tobogganing, snowshoeing and winter hiking at Kronplatz
Away from the slopes, winter in the Puster Valley shows its quiet side: toboggan runs for every age, moonlight tobogganing, snowshoe tours and winter walks to cosy mountain huts, all just a few kilometres from the Übersteinerhof.

Moonlight tobogganing in the Dolomites
First a cosy stop at a mountain hut, then a moonlit ride down to the valley: moonlight tobogganing is one of the best winter experiences at Kronplatz. Away from the floodlit runs, bring a head torch.
You can hire toboggans at huts, hotels and ski rental shops in the area. Children wear a helmet when tobogganing, and warm clothing with good boots makes the day more comfortable.
Snowshoeing and winter hiking
Around Kronplatz, cleared winter paths and snowshoe trails lead through snowy forests to mountain huts serving South Tyrolean food. An easy walk near Bruneck takes about an hour to the Lercher Alm, and there are more winter hikes in Olang, Kiens and St. Vigil.
For a winter holiday with kids there are easy paths with snowball fights and a hut stop.
Ice skating in the Puster Valley
Every village in the area has its own ice rink. Nearby are the ice ring in Reischach, the ice stadium in Bruneck and the natural rink on Lake Issing. Ice stock sport is a winter tradition in the Puster Valley.
